Well, after almost 18 months of having our chickens, a baby racoon thinks we are running a Hometown Buffet. Yep, Thursday morning Jeff woke up to find the little critter demolishing two of our birds. He didn't even seem to mind Jeff taking pictures. Lucky for him, he was a cute little guy so Jeff was gracious and didn't kill him. Unlucky for us, he's got GUTS (more than our chicken guts) and came back for more this morning...leaving us w/ one lone bird and forcing us to begin purchasing eggs! :(

I agree, with Jeff. It may be time for him to go bye bye for good. Unless you want to skip having chickens and have a coon for a pet!

those racoons are a nuisance! i bet there is live traps you can use for them and then relocate them.
Eryn...I own a live trap but will not use it. They do not deserve the live trap.

Not that they are eating the chickens of course! The part about Hometown Buffet. The kids went there this week for the first time, and Jasper has talked repeatedly about the countless turkey legs and various desserts he consumed.
