New Stats

All of the Moore girls had our check ups on the same day. Last Tuesday we headed in for some big stuff. I was having my first ultrasound and Big Sis was getting the last of her shots b/f heading off to Kindergarten in the Fall, then Baby Girl had her 2 year check up. Thank goodness Jeff was able to attend b/c I would've never made it on my own! :)

The drama from the shots, realizing Baby Sister didn't have to get shots and also having to give a urine specimen has finally worn off, but it definitely still comes up from time to time. We are all glad that day is over!

That being said, here are the stats on our growing girls!

Big Sis: 40 lbs., 3 ft. 7 in.

Baby Girl: 23 lbs 13 oz., 34 3/4 in.

due date, but we will know more on May 11I haven't scanned in our ultrasound photo, but the baby had a good strong heartbeat and is about the size of a grape this week. Dr. Lou think I may be a few days ahead of the Nov. 28thth at a screening ultrasound.

We are so thankful for our growing family and their health!! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

A Prayer for Our Baby Girl

Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all the day long.
Psalms 25:4-5

Happy Birthday to our sweet girl!
You are a joy in our lives!

5 years ago today...

Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all the day long.
Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me!
Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
May integrity and uprightness preserve me,
for I wait for you.
Psalm 25: 4-5, 20-21
We love you Big Sis!
May your life continue to bring joy to all around you
and may you find your
joy, strength & hope in Jesus!

Chicken Tortilla Soup

From the "Fix-It and Forget-It" Cookbook. If you do not have you...it is a MUST!!!!!

4 Chicken Breast halves (I put in two frozen breasts...yep, FROZEN)
2 15-oz. cans Black Beans, undrained
2 15-oz. cans Mexican stewed tomatoes, or Rotel tomatoes (I just did diced tomatoes to cut down on the spice so the girls could enjoy)
1 C salsa
4-oz. can chopped green chilies (I left these out as well)
14 1/2-oz. can tomato sauce
Tortilla chips
2 C grated Cheese
I added Sour Cream

1. Combine all ingredients except chips and cheese in large slow cooker.
2. Cover. Cook on Low 8 hrs. ( I cooked on high for 4)
3. Just before serving, remove chicken breasts and slice into bite-sized pieces (Mine just shredded and were so moist). Stir into soup.
4. To serve, put a handfull of chips in each individual soup bowl, ladle soup over chips, top with cheese (& sour cream).

It is wonderful...and gaseous! :)

Just Call Me "Martha"

I've recently discovered such a love for cooking and baking. I find myself always looking for new recipes and browsing through my cookbooks. Last week I cooked all my meals out of a book my Mom gave me. When I started reading it I noticed she had dated it; 1979. It is called Better Homes & Gardens All~Time Favorite Recipes. These are def. some good ones!
Hope you and your family enjoy!
